Did you know? that Baby Massage is one of the most wonderful skill a parent can acquire? It develops closeness, stimulation, and physical contact. Clinical evidence shows that a nurturing touch can have a positive impact on the subsequent development of an infant. Numerous studies have also shown the many developmental benefits of positive contact as part of baby's early life. Baby Massage is clearly one of the most natural and pleasant methods of providing this early nurtuting contact. |
" Massaging you baby introduces a unique level of confidence
and relaxation that is reflected in the health and nature of your child and your relationship. It is an antidote to an increasingly
competitive way of life where stress pays a major part in the breakdown of human health and communication. "

Going to work after a 2 1/2 months Matrernity Leave meant that i'll have less time spent with my baby.
Having a full time job, I'm home around 6:30pm. From that time on up until she sleeps, I'm in charge! |
| This precious time alone with my baby strengthen our bond. It was one of the ways I was able to communicate with her (though non-verbally). It was part of the bedtime routine we had before(now it sort of change, we've added toothbrushing, praying etc.) I encourage other parents to try infant massage and reap it's benefits. |

| I used lavander oil (Lavendula Officinalis) bought at Applewoods (too sad they've closed shop here in our country). Lavander Oil (as the book says) is a versatile, relaxing, balancing oil for body, mind and emotions. Aids sleep, soothes tired muscles, benefits the immune system, encourgaes tranquility. Has antiseptic properties, and is most helpful in skin care, balances sebum. Plus, it smells great too! |
